Gojo vs Sukuna: One Of The Greatest Battle In Anime History

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga has been completed a while ago but the legendary battle between Gojo and Sukuna remains a hot topic among fans. Without a doubt, Gojo vs Sukuna was one of the most intense and unforgettable fights in the entire series. It had everything on high stakes, shocking twists, and weeks of suspense that kept readers on edge.

Jujutsu Kaisen Anime Season 3 Is in Development

Although the manga has concluded, the anime is still moving forward. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 was officially announced after Season 2 wrapped up, which covered the dramatic Shibuya Incident arc that aired from July to December 2023. Given the complexity of the upcoming Culling Game arc, fans should expect another long wait between seasons—possibly two years, similar to the previous gap.

Season 3 will pick up where the Shibuya Incident left off. In that arc, ‘Geto’ and Mahito launched a mission to seal Gojo permanently. However, things didn’t go exactly as planned. As a veil covered Shibuya, Yuji and Megumi played key roles in turning the tide. Choso, one of the Death Painting triplets, nearly killed Yuji but ultimately held back after seeing visions of his own brothers—and of Yuji himself.

The Epic Fight Between: Gojo vs Sukuna

While Sukuna was officially declared the winner of the battle, the discussion about who was actually stronger hasn’t stopped. The Gojo vs Sukuna fight continues to divide the fandom. Now, with Gege shedding light on what really happened, fans are re-evaluating their opinions—and many feel even more confident that Gojo was the superior sorcerer.

Gege Akutami Explains Who’s Truly Stronger In Gojo vs Sukuna battle

Exciting News: Solo Leveling Season 3 Updates

In a candid statement, Jujutsu Kaisen creator Gege Akutami finally revealed the truth about the Gojo vs Sukuna outcome. According to Gege, the only reason Sukuna won was because Gojo let his guard down during a critical moment. It wasn’t a clear-cut victory—far from it. Gege explained that under normal circumstances, Gojo would’ve easily dodged the blow or survived the attack.

More importantly, Gege confirmed that had Gojo avoided Sukuna’s World Splitting Dismantle, it would’ve been game over for Sukuna. After landing his Black Flash, Gojo had regained access to his Reverse Cursed Technique, Cursed Technique, and even his domain. At that point, if the fatal hit hadn’t landed, Gojo would have completely turned the tables and defeated Sukuna.

Sukuna Wouldn’t Have Won Without The Help Of…

One of the most significant points Gege made was that Sukuna couldn’t have beaten Gojo without outside help, specifically Mahoraga. Gojo fought the entire battle with multiple disadvantages, yet still put up a performance that most sorcerers couldn’t dream of matching. He also had a superior Cursed Technique and a far more advanced domain expansion compared to Sukuna.

What tipped the scales in Sukuna’s favor was gaining access to Megumi Fushiguro’s body. Without that, and without Mahoraga’s adaptive powers, Sukuna likely wouldn’t have had a chance. This makes Gojo’s performance even more impressive. He was fighting handicapped, and still almost came out on top.

The Real Strongest Sorcerer: Gojo or Sukuna?

All signs point to Gojo being the stronger of the two. Sukuna may have won the battle, but it was far from a clean victory. Gege Akutami’s explanation makes it clear that Gojo’s loss wasn’t due to inferior strength or ability, It was simply a matter of letting his guard down in a crucial moment. Had he stayed focused, Sukuna wouldn’t have stood a chance.

With better technique, a stronger domain, and unmatched battle sense, Gojo remains the true powerhouse of the Jujutsu Kaisen universe in the eyes of many fans—and even its creator.
